Cincinnati State College Democrats

The purpose of the Cincinnati State College Democrats is to represent and foster the views of the Democratic Party at Cincinnati State College. As a political organization, they help college students become involved in politics and elections by sponsoring speakers, facilitating campaigning, and attending regional, state, and national political functions. The College Democrats provide information to the campus regarding the Democratic Party platform and its candidates for office. The group also works on voter registration drives, increasing voter turnout, and other citizenship activities.

Call for Dedicated Students

I am looking for dedicated students to help me lead the Cincinnati State College Democrats. I am in the process of reoganizing the chapter and would accept any help that you could give to our organization. If you are intersted in a leadership position, knows someone who is interested, or are able to assist me in simple tasks (such as hanging flyers), please contact me.

Thanks,

Voter Registration Drive

Hello Fellow Democrats!

Our chapter has been inactive recently and I am on a mission to change that, starting with a voter registration and membership drive March 14 -16 (Tuesday - Thursday), from 11 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm.

The registration table will be located just outside of the cafeteria. If any of you could help out or know of anyone who would like to join or register to vote (deadline to register for the May primary election is April 3rd), send them my way.

I have invited elected officials and candidates to participate in the registration drive. Please stop by the table to show your support and to share any ideas you may have for the coming year.

Thank you,

Nicholas Gesell

Nicholas Becomes President

The past several of months our organization has been rather inactive, partly because many of the former officers have left or graduated. Therefore, Nicholas Gesell, your former membership director, has become Interim President until the next election. Please give him all of your support as he reorganizes and revitalizes the Cincinnati State Democrats.

Help Elect Paul Hackett to Congress

Dear Fellow Democrats,

On Tuesday, August 2nd, there will be a special election to fill the Congressional seat vacated by Rob Portman. This is a great opportunity to pick up a seat in the House of Representatives and show the Republican Party that Ohio is tired of there policies and majority rule in Washington.

Paul Hackett, a former Marine Major and veteran of the Iraqi War is running a strong campaign to take back the Second District in southern Ohio. He has stood up and told the people of Ohio that he will not be a rubber stamp for the Bush administration and that he has an exit strategy for the continuing conflict in Iraq.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic National Committee, Ohio Democratic Party, and the Hamilton County Democratic Party are working closely on a coordinated Get Out the Vote effort. We need volunteers like you to come out and lend hand, help canvas the district, make phone calls, and work to get a Democrat elected to Congress.

Please offer your support in any way possible. We are working on places for you to stay if you are coming in from out of town. Please contact me at the Hamilton County Democratic Party (intern@hamiltoncountydems.org or 513.421.0495) and let me know when you'll be able to come down.

This is an important election and we need you to help win and send Paul Hackett to Congress.

Thank you,
